Overview:

Ben is a Senior Lecturer in Strength and Conditioning and the programme leader for the MSc Strength and Conditoning degree. Having worked full-time in the professional field of sport science for over 5 years, Ben joined Hatpury University in March 2013. Since then he has continued to work with a number of professional clubs and organisations in the UK in coaching and consultancy roles and currently leads collaborative projects with Gloucester Rugby, West Bromwich Albion FC Academy and Cheltenham Town FC. Ben is an Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach (ASCC) with the UK Strength and Conditioning Association, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a Level 2 British Weightlifting Coach. Additionally, he is Fellow of The Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a founding member of the BASES ‘Education and Teaching’ Special Interest Group. Ben's main research focus is within the area of long-term athletic development in which he is completing his PhD via publication investigating resistance training practices in youth soccer players with expected completion in mid-late 2020.
