Personal profile

I obtained a BSc (Hons) in Agricultural and Food Sciences from University of Nottingham in 1994; a PGCE in 2005 from University of Wales, Newport and I am currently studying Sustainable and Efficient Food Production at Masters level, with the Advanced Training Partnership (Aberystwyth and Bangor Universities).  I have worked with livestock over the past twenty years both as a dairy farmer and a national livestock consultant. I joined Hartpury College in 2009 and I have taught numerous modules but I am currently module leading Advanced Animal Nutrition; Applied Animal Nutrition, Animal Nutrition and Advanced Animal Production. As senior lecturer I am also coordinating and overseeing the foundation year programme of studies offered at University Centre Hartpury.

Knowledge exchange has very much been in the way as an external examiner. Over the past five year I have been head external moderator for Somerset College’s HE to Access diploma science courses and I am currently external examiner with Plymouth University overseeing the Agriculture degree programme at Duchy College.  Other knowledge exchange work has involved one to one farmer consultancy work and livestock farmer workshops for whole farm health and nutrition. My main research interests of research study are animal nutrition; animal health and livestock production.
