Personal profile

Overview

I have worked on collaborative research with UCLAN assessing and measuring (dis)abled riders to amend the sport classification system used by the FEI during the paralympics. 

I have interests in animal behaviour and welfare, particularly horses and the impact of human interaction with them, as well as previous work as an undergraduate in conservation genetics and haplotyping. 

Current teaching

I lead 5 modules:

  • L3 Foundation Biological Principles (105 students)
  • L4 Animal Genetics (142 students)
  • L4 Managing Equine Wellbeing (12 students)
  • L5 Professional Practice Portfolio (20 students)
  • L5 Professional Practice Project (7 students)

I am on the teaching team on the following:

  • L4 Livestock Science and Husbandry
  • L4 Skills Development for Ag
  • L5 Animals in Education

I have/will give guest lectures in:

  • L5 Managing Animal Wellbeing
  • L4 Equine Genetics

I have also helped run a field trip for L6 Wildlife Conservation in Captivity.
