Personal profile

As a Registered Equine Veterinary Nurse (REVN) I have an interest in all aspects of veterinary nursing, most specifically equine surgical nursing, intensive care and rehabilitation. I joined the Hartpury team of veterinary nursing lecturers in November 2016 and will be working towards a postgraduate certificate in higher education over 2017-18.

Prior to lecturing, I gained an honors degree in equine science at Hartpury College (UWE) in 2000. On completion of this, I worked for three years in a small equine veterinary clinic followed by 13 years in a large equine veterinary specialist referral hospital where I gained an NVQ level 3 in equine veterinary nursing in 2008, an assessor qualification (A1) in 2009 and clinical coach certificate in 2010.

Knowledge exchange activities currently include:

Providing equine relevant articles on sweet itch and other skin conditions caused by allergies which were published in ‘The Veterinary Nursing Times’.
