Dr Steve Draper completed his PhD, investigating the energetics of middle distance running, in 2002.  Steve has considerable expertise in sport and exercise physiology (in particular oxygen uptake kinetics) and the modelling of athletic performance.  Steve has many peer reviewed publications across a broad range of areas of sport, exercise and health and has supervised 14 research degrees to completion. He co-founded the Clem Burke Drumming Project and is currently investigating the effects of music performance on health and wellbeing. Steve has worked in applied sport science for a range of sports including the Olympic Boxing Project and has considerable expertise in assessment of performance. He has spoken publicly about his research, including the Cheltenham Science Festival and the Dublin Science Gallery and several appearances on national media.   Steve is currently the Associate Dean of Teaching, Learning and Scholarship at University Centre Hartpury.
